As a part-time veterinary receptionist, you work fewer than 40 hours a week in an animal hospital or veterinary clinic. You are responsible for answering phones, greeting clients and pets when they enter, and managing medical records and other important information for each animal patient. Additional duties include scheduling and confirming appointments, following up with clients, and processing payments. Depending on the employer and your experience, your responsibilities may include answering general questions about animal care and services provided at the clinic. You may also be in charge of light housekeeping duties such as cleaning the waiting area and taking out garbage.
