About the Role
We are seeking a Farm Activities Coordinator to support a unique, mission-driven program that combines hands-on farm work with meaningful engagement for adults with developmental disabilities. This role blends agriculture, animal care, and activity leadership, creating a dynamic and rewarding work environment year-round.
From April through October, the role is primarily focused on vegetable/plant farming and outdoor work. During the winter months, the focus shifts toward structured, activity-based programming.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with vegetable farming operations, including planting, weeding, harvesting, and general crop care
  • Support the care and well-being of small to medium farm animals (e.g., goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs)
  • Help create and lead engaging activities and programming tailored to individuals' interests and abilities
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and person-centered environment that supports individual goals and dignity
  • Assist with maintaining farm grounds, supplies, and activity materials
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure high-quality programming and care

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience working with plants, specifically vegetables/crop production

  • Reliable, consistent, and able to commit year-round (including winter months)
  • Valid driver's license (MA, NH, RI) and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with small or mixed livestock (goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, etc.)
  • Experience leading activities, groups, or programming
  • Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
