Pay Range: $25.20 - $35.60 per hour

Summary:
The Anatomy Laboratory Coordinator under the supervision of the Director is responsible for coordinating a clean, safe, and well-stocked anatomy laboratory to meet the needs of internal and external educational and research groups. The coordinator will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
•Associate’s degree in mortuary science or a health-related field, or a Bachelor's degree.
•1- 3 year of related experience in lab
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong organizational and analytical skills.
•Able to work and problem-solve independently and efficiently.
•Able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Physical Demands:
•Must be able to lift 50 pounds, move heavy carts, walk for 15 minutes, and stand for at least 20 minutes.

Responsibilities:
•Ensure the legal compliance chain of custody of donor tissue specimens which include the maintenance of the inventory logs of the whole-body donor inventory in the laboratory.
•Serve as the day-to-day curator of anatomical materials, upkeep, storage, and organization of anatomical teaching materials.
•Coordinates the use of anatomical materials suitable for education and research.
•Assist the course directors in maintaining anatomical materials (e.g., wrapping, covering, and moistening the specimens.), preparing for cremation of anatomical materials at the completion of dissection.
•Confers with teaching faculty and course director to evaluate the daily laboratory needs ensuring teaching materials are ready and available as needed for the class and assists in the setup/teardown of workshops.
•Coordinate the required paperwork and signatures, and, where needed, draft invoices for use of the RUHAL facilities.
•Coordinate and lead community service outreach events, including anatomy lab tours and health fairs.
•Liaise with the Rush Office of Student Diversity and Community Engagement, and Philanthropy for coordinating and participating in community enrichment tours.
•Collaborate in university research projects with various departments.
•Maintain supply orders, track deliveries, verify receipts, and follow-up with Rush and outside venders as necessary
•Maintain log the inventory of laboratory supplies, including the required personal protective equipment for end-users.
•Oversee the laundering and replacement of scrubs, gowns, and lab coats.
•Responsible for laboratory equipment maintenance schedule as well as the preventative lab equipment maintenance, and annual preventative maintenance.
•Maintain the Rush University Medical Center's Chemical Hygiene Plan and Exposure Control Plan for Bloodborne Pathogens specific to the RUHAL.
•Monitor the adherence of rules concerning access to the RUHAL and laboratory safety.
•Fulfill other assigned duties
