The candidate should have or be working toward a bachelor's degree in computer/computational science or related discipline with experience in the full software development life cycle. This position will report to a Project Manager and work will be partly on-site / partly off-site at Client in Wyandotte, MI. This is a part-time (24h/week) contracting position for 9 months with possibility for extension.

Responsibilities

Seeking a Data Science Engineer with experience providing dashboard and analytics applications for scientists. The candidate should understand agile ways of working and DevOps elements, and will use skills in data science, which includes programming in python, machine learning, and data modeling. Expected to build dashboards using various technologies such as Python/Streamlit and PowerBI.

Candidate will:

  • Understand the business processes and associated digital needs for assigned projects, which will include processing and visualizing business data.
  • Build and maintain user-friendly dashboards and data analytics applications in close collaboration with our project managers and business teams.
  • Perform associated tasks including data architecture, data science, solutions design, documentation, and implementation, as well as continual communication to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Requirements include knowledge, skills & experience in the following areas: Developing dashboards and data analytics applications including validation of business requirements, technical design, and implementation through test and rollout. Software requirements collection & analysis, use cases, mock-ups.
  • Aggregate complex data from multiple repositories to feed into visualization or analysis in a dashboard.
  • Utilize APIs and clarifying any issues with the technical owners of the APIs.
