Job description

Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility offers acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services.

The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.

This LCSW opportunity is part time at 24 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule.  This individual will be responsible for the assessment, recommendation, the appropriate and timely discharge and transfer arrangements for patients in the detox unit.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Completes evaluation of patients on legal hold to assess safety needs and appropriate level of care.
  • Works with multidisciplinary team to make recommendations on continuing or discontinuing legal hold.
  • Competent in completing timely and accurate paperwork on each legal hold and following the current process for notifying legal council
  • Provides individual and group therapy sessions

  • Masters degree, License Clinical Social Worker required.
  • Current state Social Worker licensure.
  • 3 or more years of previous experience in all aspects of social service and discharge planning preferably in an acute care setting. Knowledge of community resources to meet post discharge clinical and social needs.
