Job description

Job Details:

The Chaplain provides emotional, spiritual, and pastoral support to all team members and their families, regardless of religious beliefs. This role focuses on care, guidance, and crisis support in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular, personal contact with team members at the worksite
  • Provide support during life events such as: Illness, hospitalization, death, births, marriages, and major milestones
  • Offer short-term pastoral counseling (confidential within legal and company guidelines) & Refer individuals to external community resources for long-term counseling needs
  • Uphold strict ethical standards, integrity, and professional boundaries
  • Support HR programs related to chaplaincy services and clearly represent the role as a workplace chaplain, not as a local church pastor.

Religious & Professional Requirements:

  • Must be an active member in good standing with a local faith group. Approval from local church or judicatory required prior to hire Ordination preferred; denominational endorsement encouraged. Demonstrate a lifestyle consistent with the teachings of their faith Maintain a strong reputation as a spiritual leader in the community

Education & Certifications:

  • (Preferred) Master's degree, ideally a Master of Divinity (M.Div.)
  • Completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Board certification from recognized organizations, such as: Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, American Association of Pastoral Counselors, Association for Clinical Pastoral Education preferred or willingness to complete within a 2 year time frame.

Experience

Prior experience in pastoral care, counseling, or workplace chaplaincy preferred.

Ability to address workplace-specific challenges and support diverse populations

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with HR and leadership
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Bilingual abilities preferred but not required

  • Apply an inclusive, ecumenical approach to ministry
  • Knowledge of community resources (financial, medical, counseling) for referrals
