Job description

The Town of Silverthorne is seeking responsible and reliable individuals to join our professional lifeguard team.

All applicants will be required to complete a prerequisite skills test prior to beginning the hiring process. This skills test is a requirement of the American Red Cross. In order to move on to training, certification or hire, participants must successfully demonstrate the following skills.

Continuous proficient 150-yard swim of freestyle and/or breaststroke.

Combined 10 ft. and 20-yard retrieval of 10lbs. Under 1 minute and 45 seconds.

2-minute tread in deep water using only kick.

Demonstrate proficient ARC lifeguarding rescue skills, CPR and emergency response skills through a timed deep water rescue scenario.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Performs secondary duties of customer service, maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the pool area, and assist with events and programming.

Shift:      Varied weekday and weekend shifts. 4-8 hours

Full Lifeguard Pay Range is:            $21.71 to $28.95
