Job Overview
Terralume Signature Memory Care is a new, boutique community designed exclusively for individuals living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Located off Wayzata Boulevard in Minnetonka. We are building a team of compassionate, adaptable professionals who want to help shape something truly special.
The Resident Experience Specialist is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. They assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating the life enrichment and Dimensions programming which provides for the optimization of resident physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cognitive well-being. They are responsible for dining room and To-Go meal service to residents as well as providing a clean, safe and pleasant environment for residents, staff and visitors.
This schedule includes;
  • 48 hours every two weeks ; Part Time
  • Overnight Shift ; 10:30pm-7:00am
  • Shift differential available
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities
  • Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to: Bathing/showering Foot and fingernail care Shaving Dressing Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses Hair care Feeding Toileting Escorts 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
  • Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (Includes blood glucose monitoring) Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Assists with life enrichment programs and activities: Leads social events, activity programs, and wellness programming. Documents as required. Offers suggestions and ideas to the Executive Director - Resident Experience and Operations to improve the programming. Assists with the planning and execution 1:1 and small group informal activities as directed by leadership or observed as needed by residents.
  • Encourage and embrace use of Dimensions program: Attend Dimensions Trainings Utilize best practices of the Dimensions Program to ensure effective approach and interaction with persons living with dementia. Collaborates with team to maximize recommended contributions to resident care plan from current Cognitive Performance Tests (CPT), My Way, Advance Care Planning and Global Deterioration Scale (GDS). Ensure Dimensions environment is conducive to enhancing resident experience and encouraging engagement. Offers suggestions and innovative ideas to improve the Dimensions Community to the Executive Director - Resident Experience and Operations.
  • Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting: Follows meal serving schedule and procedures. Offers resident meal choices and meets resident's specific dietary needs and preferences. Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques. Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures. Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up. Welcomes residents and initiates conversation. Follows proper work flow to stay on task. Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service. Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift. Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc. Assists with meal prep. Delivers meal trays.
  • Cleans resident and common areas of the community as assigned: Performs thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including vacuums carpets, sweeps and mops hard floor surfaces, dusts and/or damp wipes surfaces, sanitizes bathrooms, cleans all glass windows/mirrors. Safely mixes chemicals according to instructions provided by the manufacturer Demonstrates precautionary work practices for the safety of others in the work areas, such as electric cords, wet floor signs, etc. Prioritizes tasks and completes them within allotted time. Assists in cleaning spills and accidents as needed. Follows cleaning schedule and instructions regarding specifications of resident's individualized housekeeping needs. Submit work orders in TELS to ensure timely response to resident requests. Maintains housekeeping cart and storage area regularly. Safeguards others' well-being by keeping chemicals and other hazardous materials locked when not in active use. Communicates supplies that need to be re-stocked. Assists with light maintenance tasks as needed.
