Part Time Test Engineer information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Test Engineer, and why are they important?

A Part Time Test Engineer needs a solid background in software testing principles, familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, and a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency in test automation tools (such as Selenium or JUnit), bug tracking systems, and version control software is typically required. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and time management are crucial soft skills for excelling in this flexible role. These competencies ensure efficient identification and resolution of software issues, contributing to reliable product releases even within limited working hours.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time Test Engineers, and how can they be addressed?

Part-time Test Engineers often face challenges related to time management and communication, as they may not be present during all project meetings or development cycles. To address these issues, it’s important to maintain clear documentation and regular updates with the team, ensuring that testing priorities and results are communicated effectively. Leveraging collaborative tools and maintaining flexibility can help balance workload and ensure that quality standards are met despite limited hours. Building strong relationships with full-time colleagues can also help streamline handoffs and clarify expectations.

What are Part Time Test Engineers?

Part Time Test Engineers are professionals who work fewer hours than full-time employees to test software, hardware, or systems for quality and functionality. Their responsibilities typically include designing test cases, executing tests, identifying bugs, and reporting issues to the development team. Part-time positions offer flexibility, making them suitable for students, parents, or those seeking work-life balance. These engineers play a critical role in ensuring products meet quality standards before release, even on a reduced schedule.

Part-Time Small Group Personal Trainer

Studio ME Fitness

Minneapolis, MN

$25 - $40/hr

Part-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

We're not a big box gym. We're a boutique studio built around real relationships, real results, and clients who are in it for the long haul. We specialize in 1-on-1 and semi-private training for adults who are done with the hamster wheel and ready to build something that actually lasts.

We're looking for a part-time trainer who gets that — someone who shows up prepared, coaches with intention, and genuinely cares about the people in front of them.

Compensation:

$25 - $40 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Lead semi-private and small group training sessions — reading the room, meeting clients where they are, and programming with purpose
  • Conduct Quarterly fitness tests and goal check-ins so clients always know where they stand and where they're headed
  • Design and deliver individualized programs that account for each client's history, goals, and life outside the gym
  • Coach proper movement and technique every session — not just when someone's brand new
  • Contribute to a client retention culture (we aim for less than 3% churn — that's not an accident)
  • Show up for staff meetings and continuing education — we take professional growth seriously around here
  • Handle client concerns with the same care you'd want if you were on the other side

Qualifications:
  • Current PT certification through ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, or similar — or the drive to obtain one within 3 months of hire
  • Current CPR/AED certification (or same 3-month window)
  • 1+ year of experience coaching clients, ideally with some small group or semi-private background
  • A degree in an exercise-related field is a bonus, not a dealbreaker
  • Someone who can confidently train all fitness levels — beginners to athletes — and actually enjoys the variety
  • Strong communicator who can connect with a 38-year-old coming back from injury and a 55-year-old training for their first 5K in the same afternoon
  • Comfortable with change, detail-oriented, and self-motivated enough to work in a small team environment
  • Able to safely lift and move up to 40 lbs

About Company

We're a tight-knit team in a studio that punches above its weight. Clients aren't just members — they're regulars who remember your name, bring their friends, and stick around for years. If you want to actually coach (not just be a cheerleader, count reps, and check boxes), this is the place.
