Position: Summer Camp Mentor
Department: Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences
Status: Part Time Temporary
Position Summary:
This part-time, temporary position will assist the Department Manager & Program Manager with being a mentor and assisting with summer STEM camps on an as-needed basis. Applicants must have experience assisting the Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences department with these types of events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with one summer 3-day day STEM Camp, June 23-25, 2026
  • Act as a mentor to a set number of campers during each camp.
  • Assist with directing middle and high school students with various activities during the camps.
  • Help set up and break down lab activities for each camp.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates
  • Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice

Education/Experience:
  • B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences strongly preferred
  • Experience with Campbell University's STEM Camp required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent leadership and/or supervisory skills
• Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms
• Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public
• Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
• Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
• Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines
• Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
• Ability to work occasional evening hours
