Job description

Senior Technical Lead (Project Manager / Network Engineer III)

Location: Missoula, Montana (Onsite, with possible hybrid option)

Schedule: Part-time (25โ€“30 hours per week, about 6 hours per day)

Pay Range: $24โ€“$47 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead to oversee and support a network systems contract in Missoula. This person will be the main point of contact and will handle a mix of project management, budgeting, and advanced network support.

This role is mostly onsite and requires availability for after-hours or emergency support when needed.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  1. Act as the main contact for the contract and help oversee any team members

  2. Advise leadership on technology plans and improvements

  3. Estimate costs and help plan purchases for new systems or upgrades

  4. Support security and compliance work (including ATO and POA&M requirements)

  5. Handle advanced (Tier 3) network troubleshooting and design

  6. Provide day-to-day network support and assist during urgent issues

What Weโ€™re Looking For
  1. Strong background in IT project management and network engineering

  2. Ability to make decisions independently and communicate risks early

  3. Comfortable being the lead technical expert on a project

Preferred Certifications:

  1. Cisco Certified Field Technician

  2. CompTIA Security+

  3. CompTIA Network+

Requirement:

  1. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a USDA LincPass (government ID badge)
