About Us
Dr. Denise Sekaquaptewa (PI, Stereotyping and Prejudice Research Interest Group) is seeking a part-time Lab Manager/Post-Bac Researcher to join the research team in July/August 2026 (exact start date is negotiable). Students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in social psychology or other related fields are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities*
The primary responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing data collection from surveys, which includes quantitative data from qualtrics surveys, some coding of open-ended responses, initial data prep and cleaning, helping the PI with some standard analyses (e.g., descriptives, correlation, t-test, ANOVA).
  • Experiments (both online and in person), which includes helping to design in-person experiments involving computer-administered tasks and small group interactions which will be videorecorded for later analysis. Helping to design online studies including two-part longitudinal designs.
  • Supervising 3-5 research assistants, coordinating schedules of studies and other lab activities
  • Developing survey and experimental materials
  • Creating executive reports and summaries, which includes executive reports for communication of outcomes for broader audiences; and summaries of research results for use within the lab, preparing presentations of results for internal and external presentations.
  • Managing grants and Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols

Training will be provided. This position reports to a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Sekaquaptewa Lab. The lab manager will also have the opportunity for contribution to ongoing research projects, leading to the possibility of scientific presentations and publications.
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field.
  • 1-2 years experience in a social psychology lab (or related experience).
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; and SPSS or R (or other statistical analysis software such as Stata, JMP, Matlab, or SAS).

Desired Qualifications*
  • Experience working with Institutional Review Board applications (IRBs).
  • Experience with Qualtrics survey builder and online research platforms such as Prolific and Mturk
  • Candidates should be organized, conscientious, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and responsive - communicating clearly and handling day-to-day email promptly and efficiently.
  • Candidates must be committed to respectful, effective collaboration with a research team.
