We are the Office of Survey Research and Analysis, and we have a few important functions. First, we administer the major surveys that assess students' experiences here at GW, including Student Feedback and the Graduating Senior Survey. We also compile the data and use it to improve student life.
Position Specific Summary
The student will help design, distribute, and summarize surveys and analyze data to better understand faculty and students' responses to surveys. Tasks will include: using Qualtrics to design surveys that are accessible, inclusive, and follow best practices for measurement (e.g., meaningful response options, avoiding double-barrelled items), completing analysis and reporting in Qualtrics and using statistical programming software (e.g., testing and reporting on differences by subgroups), printing reports of survey results, serving as a test user for interactive survey, summarizing open-ended comments using qualitative coding, assist with documentation of office procedures and practices, assisting with the development of new surveys over the summer if needed.
Standard Position Description
The student will perform administrative and research tasks under general supervision by a faculty member or research coordinator. Tasks may include: contribute to peer reviewed research and write research memos of findings, assist with presentations, supervision and training of other student staff, write and run statistical programs to analysis data. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.
Professional Outcomes Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Technology and Data Required Qualifications
Previous skills, training, or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in social science research methods and statistics. Have a demonstrated interest in scientific research, computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Qualtrics, SAS, Power BI; and Tableau.
