Job description

Title: Engineering Specialist

Location: Asheville, NC

Job Type: Part-time Flex


What's the Opportunity?

This part-time flex role will experience a combination of hands-on fieldwork and a defined project within environmental engineering, as well as the opportunity for exposure to other service areas within our firm. There will be opportunities to work with senior and principal-level professionals, assisting with project-related tasks and gaining insight into the world of professional consulting.

Responsibilities:

  • SPCC plan development for industrial facilities
  • Town stream restoration assessments
  • IP construction oversight/documentation
  • Industrial stormwater sampling and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

What Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field. Rising seniors, or graduate students are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous internship, coursework, research, or hands-on project experience related to engineering, environmental consulting, construction, field work, data analysis, or similar technical disciplines is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced professional setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and interest in learning industry-specific software and tools.
  • Prior experience in consulting, professional services, field work, laboratory work, or client service environments is a plus, but not required.
  • Interest in environmental consulting, engineering, health & safety, compliance, restoration, or related technical services preferred.
