Store Manager - Tuck Shop

CareRx continues to be the leader in medication management and community based services in senior living communities. Our  tuck shops are a network of stores located across Canada and that deliver medications to resident’s rooms, while also offering the sale of convenience products.

As Store Manager - Tuck Shop you will be working in a fast-paced robust pharmacy program environment providing support for day-to-day activities within our medication management delivery program. You will have regular and daily contact with residents and guests, pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy operations manager, the business development team, clinical pharmacists and the pharmacy driver.

This is a Casual part-time position which means there is no guarantee of hours every week and is perfect for an individual who is looking to pick up work as needed.  Initially the position will be covering a leave and will be 20-25 hours per week.

Work/Shop Location: Bonavista, Calgary

Hours of Work/Shop Hours: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Wednesday to Friday (extra hours as needed)

Your Day to Day:

  • First point of contact for residents and customers greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Communication regarding store events, billing, delivery, and associated programs
  • Promote the services of CareRx programs and services; actively sign customers up for all CareRx programs
  • Manage store and inventory; price, stock the store and shelve products
  • Use of point of sale software and complete cashier duties
  • Cash handling and balancing at month end
  • Cash sales deposits to local bank and supportive paperwork to accounting division
  • Provide ideas and actively support events that would promote the tuck shop sales program
  • Attend and participate in weekly resident counsel meetings and/or functions to support tuck shop awareness
  • Travel Required - for supplies to re-stock

 What You Will Bring to The Team:

  • 1 year of experience in a senior’s residence or hospital gift shop strongly preferred
  • Some experience as a retail pharmacy assistant is a strong asset
  • Candidate must have access to a reliable vehicle and have a current and valid driver’s license to shop/support the store stock/inventory
  • Experience with use of point of sale software and cashier duties - Cash handling and balancing at month end
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office; strong computer skills for Apple iPad and computer skills in general
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk throughout the day
  • Ability to lift overhead to shelve products
  • Work as part of a team - must be able to build and maintain strong positive team relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for the specific clientele
  • Must be self-directed in their work and be able to work alone with little or no supervision
