Hours: Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping and support month-end close activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys a steady routine, and can work independently with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post daily transactions (expenses, deposits) accurately and in a timely manner
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all company accounts
  • Perform monthly credit card reconciliations, matching receipts to statements
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are properly coded/categorized
  • Support month-end close: journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and close checklist items
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records
  • Assist with preparing basic financial reports (P&L, balance sheet) for management review
  • Flag discrepancies or unusual transactions for review
  • Support management with documentation during tax season or audits
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standard bookkeeping practices

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience (required)
  • Proficiency with accounting software (preferably Quickbooks)
  • Strong understanding of debits/credits, account reconciliation, and basic GAAP principles
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet recurring deadlines (weekly/monthly)
  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Discretion in handling confidential financial information
