Job description

Salary: $18.45-$28.00per hour

We are seeking a team coach for gymnastics competitive levels. This is a part-time opportunity. You're going to love working here. Apply and meet the leadership team.

Purpose:
The purpose of a Team coach is to meet the needs and growth of the girls competitive gymnastics teams. This person must be prepared to take charge of a team - leading a group of team members assigned. General responsibilities will also include higher level recreation classes (where many team members come from), and "team development" classes (where our youngest team members come from), as well as student move ups and evaluations at CSC.


Success is measured by each instructors ability to gain smiles and skills from within their classes, build loyalty through active learning week after week, and measured progress of students up to the next level.

Instructors teach with the support and guidance of an entire team of other coaches led by a Gymnastics Coordinator or Head Coach who are in charge of setting the standards of instruction for the programs. Excellent training toward higher levels is provided.

CSC coaches also partner with site leadership to refine the customer experience - to the benefit of all students, parents, and each other.


Hours per week: 15-25 afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Plus competition travel.


Pay: $18.45- $28.00 per hour. Commensurate with the background and experience of the applicant. Additional pay is available for session based competitions and travel as well as private lesson income.


Qualifications: A background in child related services or youth sports coaching.
Former competitive gymnastics and coaching experience is required with specific level history pending the position. Must be a high energy, positive and supportive person who is excited about working with kids of all ages and levels all the time.


Training/Education: A condition of employment includes: CPR, First Aid certification within the first 30 days and an active and current active Professional Membership with USA Gymnastics. A BS degree in Kinesiology or the equivalent would be ideal, but is not required.


Skills:
Excellent and proven communication and planning skills; leadership skills dealing with children; organizational skills, outgoing and energetic. A proven spotter on skills equal to the position assigned (L3-10)


Duties:


  • Teach/Coach kids!!! Spotting required of all skills commensurate with the levels required.

    • Promote, and demonstrate, safe and developmentally appropriate learning.

  • Develop gymnasts at all levels with specific 4 event responsibility to assigned levels.

  • Develop appropriate lesson plans designed for your group/level.

  • Assist with equipment planning and safety, and general cleanliness.

  • Communicate well and regularly with fellow employees, students, and parents on a regular basis.

  • Maintain skill cards and charts (progress reports) for every student/group as assigned.

  • Timely and professional - a constant interest in learning.

  • Understand all CSC policies and procedures.

  • Attend trainings as required.

  • Review 'Team' documents annually.

  • Other duties as assigned.
