Join Staff Management | SMX at one of our local clients as an Office / Electronic Equipment Technician! We offer 1st and 2nd Shift and both full-time and part time options. As a Technician, you will perform a wide variety of activities related to the order fulfillment process for copier and printer products. These include but are not limited to installing circuit boards, kits, identification marking and software, performing product test and evaluation, executing software diagnosis, machine and component repairs and upgrades. Job Responsibilities
  • Log failure data, repair results, and prepare reports as required
  • Read and interpret directions/instructions from a PC based system and/or from written text or verbal communication
  • Assignment may include major and minor repairs and troubleshooting of products
  • May provide guidance, direction and instructions to other assigned associates and, as required, co-workers in lieu of direct supervision
  • Hand/electric pallet trucks or stackers, tape machines, ladders, containers, dollies, as well as common hand tools and portable power tools such as a screwdriver, wrench, pliers, etc.
  • Utilization of scanning devices, computer terminal/keyboard/mouse will be utilized as job aids
  • Copier and printer assemblies, sub-assemblies, components (mechanical & electrical), consumable items, supplies, software, corrugated materials and packaging/labeling materials
  • Operate hand and/or powered pallet jacks to handle and transport materials (palletized and non-palletized) in and between production and staging (applying judgement and following safe work practices at all times)
  • Unpacking product
  • Retrieve Customer Order, obtain necessary components, install components, connect machine to power, shop floor and network, test machine and components for proper operation
  • Troubleshoot as required and correct/repair, as necessary
  • Input necessary information into Shop Floor System
  • Repackage material as required to conform to Packing Specifications
  • Responsible to inspect own work and participate in process improvement activities as a part of the overall work team
  • Assist in cross training and initial training of new employees
  • Perform any other duties as required by management

  • Individual must pass a written skills assessment
  • Understanding of digital imaging process preferred
  • General familiarization with system, subsystem and component level interactivity required
  • Must be familiar with standard ESD practices
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions documented for this position
  • Must have the ability to lift various products weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must have the ability to operate various forklifts to move product or be willing to learn
  • Ability to bend, pull, lift and stand throughout the duration of the scheduled shift
  • Overtime may be required
