Part Time Software Engineer Jobs in Arizona (NOW HIRING)

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) General Services Division (GSD) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Engineer. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of ADOA-managed buildings. The Building Engineer is responsible for handling maintenance calls and conducting day-to-day repairs, working closely with the Lead Building Engineer on more complex tasks. This position involves coordinating and completing all work requests, assigning priorities, and delegating tasks to contractors when necessary. The role requires flexibility to work some weekends, holidays, and assist with after-hours work as needed.
Key responsibilities include performing corrective and preventative maintenance to extend the life of building equipment, and having a comprehensive understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general maintenance, and HVAC systems.

• Troubleshoots, maintains, inspects, modifies and repairs building systems - such as but not limited to plumbing systems, electrical systems, overhead door & gates, fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler, automatic doors, carpet & tile floors, drywall & painting, ceiling tiles, lights, emergency systems, door hardware, and elevators
• Conducts periodic general preventative maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, which involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights), and periodic testing of the equipment
• Utilize computerized maintenance management system in real-time for new requests, parts orders, updates, and completion data
• Interact with customers from beginning to completion of each work order
• Interact with contractors to schedule, assist, and ensure on-time completion of contracted projects
  

Knowledge of:

• Electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC/Stationary Engineering systems
• Preventative maintenance and work order software systems
• Current construction principles, methods and techniques
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
• Understanding of local, state, and federal guidelines

Skills in:

• Great customer service and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ladder diagrams
• Read and interpret building codes

Ability to:

• Previous building operations engineering experience, with emphasis in electrical

• Certification for refrigerant recovery (EPA Universal Certification)
• Valid Arizona driver's license
• Background and reference check, including a criminal records verification
