Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer specializing in Data Engineering and Power BI Analytics to join our growing team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data solutions within the Azure cloud environment while enabling advanced analytics and business intelligence using Power BI and SAP Business Objects.The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SAP Business Objects and Power BI, with the ability to design end-to-end data pipelines and build robust analytical models and dashboards that drive business insights. This role will play a key part in delivering enterprise analytics solutions, data visualization frameworks, and self-service BI capabilities for business stakeholders. #LI-SM2

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable data processing pipelines and architectures within Azure Data Lake and Databricks, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement and manage complex ETL/ELT data pipelines integrating data from multiple enterprise sources such as databases, APIs, and external systems.
  • Use Azure Data Factory for workflow orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring of enterprise data pipelines.
  • Implement data quality validation frameworks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the data platform.
  • Optimize data storage, transformation, and query performance within Azure environments including Databricks, Azure SQL, and Synapse.Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI solutions, including semantic models, datasets, dashboards, and analytical reports.
  • Build interactive and visually compelling dashboards that translate complex data into meaningful insights for business stakeholders.Develop Power BI data models, including star schemas, DAX measures, calculated columns, and optimized datasets.
  • Implement Power BI data governance and security, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace management.
  • Optimize Power BI performance through dataset optimization, query tuning, aggregation strategies, and incremental refresh.
  • Enable self-service analytics capabilities for business users by building reusable datasets and standardized data models.
Other Major Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI and SAP Business Objects and Business Warehouse, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to translate reporting and analytics requirements into scalable BI solutions.
  • Support migration or modernization of legacy reporting platforms to Power BI-based analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and data scientists to deliver integrated analytics solutions.mplement and maintain Azure security and governance policies including data access controls, encryption, and compliance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and reporting solutions, resolving performance issues proactively.
  • Maintain technical documentation including data architecture, pipeline design, and analytics solutions.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience 
  • US citizenship is required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Analytics platforms.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI development and analytics.
  • Extensive experience building Power BI data models, dashboards, and enterprise BI solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience designing data models for analytics such as star schema and dimensional modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Blob Storage.
  • Experience integrating data engineering pipelines with Power BI analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting or developing reports in SAP Business Objects.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
