Little League World Series Part-Time Seasonal Museum Associate

Dates of Employment are August 1st, 2026 - September 1, 2026

Do you love history, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with the public? This would be the perfect fit for college students majoring in history, but we encourage all to apply!

The World of Little Leagueยฎ Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is looking to hire Part-Time Seasonal Museum Associates. This position offers $12 per hour from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, and 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with shifts available on both weekdays and weekends. This position is subject to contingent required background checks. TRAINING IS PROVIDED!

Museum Associate duties include (but not limited to): This role involves helping prepare the museum each morning for visitors, answering questions and assisting guests throughout the day, occasionally leading museum tours, supporting full-time staff with various projects, performing light administrative tasks, and helping with merchandise sales. Through these responsibilities, you will play an important part in supporting our mission to promote Little League Baseball and Softball within the community.

Preferred candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Must be 16 years of age with a valid work permit, or 18 years of age and older
  • Must reside within commuting distance of South Williamsport, PA, and have reliable transportation
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks
  • Friendly, approachable, and outgoing, with excellent communication and customer service skills; comfortable engaging with visitors of all ages, from young children to adults in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Positive attitude, open mind, and a willingness to learn; comfortable asking questions when unsure and able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light physical activity such as stooping and bending
  • Basic knowledge of Little League history is a plus, but not required
  • Be able to answer basic questions about the museum and the series
  • Remain attentive to the exhibits to help ensure their care and security
  • Genuine interest in history is essential, and pursuing a degree in History or a related field is preferred
  • Computer proficiency required; experience with Microsoft Office and retail point-of-sale (POS) systems is preferred

Located in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the mission of the World of Little Leagueยฎ Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store is to inform and educate people about the history, service, goals, and initiatives of Little Leagueยฎ Baseball and Softball. Visitors will experience the dynamic presentation of how Little League has intertwined with U.S. and world history, as it has even helped to shape the industry. The museum explains how Little League became the world's leader, not only in the number of participants, but in sports safety as well. The self-guided experience follows the concept of the six inning Little League game and combines a rich mixture of authentic Little League heritage, artifacts and images, cutting-edge interactives, and immersive media. All of this brings home the overall mission of Little League, which is the belief in the power of youth baseball and softball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities.
