Job Description

General Scope of Duties

Properly and safety operate the Zamboni to maintain acceptable ice conditions. Proactively seek potential ice surface problems and take appropriate measures to rectify any issues. Seasonal position October – April.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Properly and safely operate the Zamboni

  • Maintain acceptable ice conditions; proactively seek potential ice surface problems and take appropriate measures to rectify any issues

  • Maintain the Zamboni machine; empty ice debris after use and keep it ready for use at all times

  • Wear proper safety equipment as prescribed for the job

  • Ensure all work processes comply with OSHA requirements/regulations and college policies and procedures

Education and Skills

  • High school diploma and demonstrated ability to operate Zamboni machine

  • Experience running and maintaining a Zamboni machine

  • Knowledge of power tools and equipment

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at moderate heights.

  • Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license required.

  • Knowledgeable of and comply with OSHA , EPA and other safety/health requirements

  • Good customer service skills

  • Well-organized, able to work under pressure

  • Ability to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the college and community
