We are currently searching for a Financial Consultant with strong investment sales experience to join our dynamic Popular Investment team! This is a commission based position only.
In this position, you will:
  • Evaluate customers relative to financial needs, current holdings and available investment capital by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank and investment program products and services that are most appropriate for their situation.
  • Help the client to identify their investment objectives.
  • Pro-actively seek information from prospects and clients to understand possible changing situations, needs and desired benefits and evaluate product or service alternatives.
  • Establish and maintain thorough prospect file, review and access on a scheduled basis.
  • Monitor customer's portfolio and make recommendations consistent with changes in economic and financial condition as well as the customer's needs and objectives.

To be considered, you will need:
  • HS Diploma/GED and at least four years of related experience in financial services or retail organization is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred along with relevant years of experiences.
  • FINRA Series 7 AND 63, and NY State Life and Health Insurance licensing required. Series 65 or 66 must be obtained within 180 days of start date
  • Knowledge of financial products and services related to investment activities. Examples include: Securities, Annuities, Life Insurance, Funds Flow Analysis, Investment Operations, and application of rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability to successfully identify customer needs and recommend the most appropriate product or service based on those needs.
  • Excellent sales ability, presentation, marketing, and negotiation skills.

Base Salary & Benefits
Our base salary for this position located in New York City generally ranges between $62,400.00 and $64,350.00 annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.

Our hybrid work model benefit applies to certain positions and is subject to changes based on the organizational needs.
