Job Posting Title:Activity Sponsor - Marching Band/Color Guard/Winter GuardJob Description:An Activity Sponsor is responsible for supervising and supporting a specific extracurricular club, organization, or activity. This role involves mentoring students, overseeing club activities, and ensuring that all events and meetings are conducted in a safe and organized manner. The Activity Sponsor works closely with students, faculty, and administration to promote student engagement and development.
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
- Education or advanced training with relevance to to the club/activity strongly desired
ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Depending on the activity and school setting, there may be:
- Mild to moderate or louder noise
- Potential exposure to weather conditions, variable temperatures
- Typical school classroom / office / gymnasium or outdoor lighting and facilities
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on the activity and school setting, the following may be required:

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Tasked with the regular cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs of all Color Guard equipment.

Specialized movement instruction of Marching Band and Color Guard, Winter Guard and Spring Color Guard practices, camps, performances for all new and returning members. July - May

Help in the design, planning and implementation of the Marching Field Show

Work collaboratively with the director to coordinate a visual package... Including costume design and prop design

Teach and coordinate the genres of Dance, Flags, Rifles and Sabres.

Write and teach the Color Guard routines.

Attend, teach and assist during the school day regular Color Guard rehearsals from Jan - May

Rehearse color guard students in 3-week Marching Camp (July)

Rehearse Color Guard students in Fall:
---August - December : Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday after school 3:15pm - 6pm (approx. 48)

---Saturdays 8am - 4:30pm (7)

Attend all performances to include home football games (4-6), competitions (7), festivals (3), Parades (2)

Work closely and collaboratively with the Band Parent Organization to transport all color guard equipment and props to and from each event.

Attend weekly rehearsals during the day to rehearse and assist the Color classes during the 1st and 2nd semester.

Rehearse and prepare color guard students for Winter and Spring Dance Concerts

Assist in the recruitment and team-building of current and future Color Guard sections.

Certifications:Education:Bachelor's DegreeSkills:Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions. Strong organizational and time management skills.
