Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Research Assistant to support ongoing research activities. The ideal candidate brings foundational experience in qualitative research methods, strong analytical thinking, and excellent writing and communication skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to scholarly work in a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Qualitative Data Collection & Coding: Gather, organize, and systematically code qualitative data using established frameworks and research protocols, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the process.
  • Literature Reviews: Conduct comprehensive searches of academic databases, synthesize relevant findings, and produce clear, well-organized literature review summaries to support ongoing research projects.
  • Manuscript Editing: Review and edit research manuscripts, reports, and other scholarly documents for clarity, coherence, grammar, and adherence to style guidelines (e.g., APA, Chicago).
  • Research Support: Assist with additional research tasks as needed, including data organization, reference management, and coordination with project team members.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, sociology, management, communications, or related discipline)
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative research methods, including data collection and coding
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficiency with word processing and reference management tools (e.g., Microsoft Word)

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti, Dedoose)
  • Experience with academic database searching (e.g., JSTOR, Google Scholar)
  • Prior experience editing academic manuscripts or working in a research setting

Work Schedule
  • This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible and may be arranged in coordination with the research team.
  • Expected to begin by the Fall 2026

Position Compensation: $20.00 Hourly
