JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

University Libraries-University Park Life Sciences Library seeks motivated and responsible individuals to provide reference desk and public services assistance.

The Life Sciences Library seeks Part-Time Information Resources and Services position staff support, responsibilities may include:

  • Reference assistance;
  • Circulation of reference items,
  • Maintenance of the overall appearance of our library;
  • Enforcement of University and Libraries policies;
  • Collection of data for various types of assessment;
  • Shelve periodicals and file other library reference materials;
  • Shelf reading/scanning of collections; and other duties of a similar nature.
  • Applicants should have strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.

Applicants with a background in any of the life sciences are preferred. This position requires the ability to be able to move throughout our library during the course of a shift. This position will require some evening and weekend shifts as scheduled as well as the availability and willingness to pick up open shifts.
