Description
The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) seeks a part time relational, mission-driven leader to serve as Donor Engagement & Stewardship Officer. This role invites churches and donors into deeper participation in God's mission through telling stories of God's work across the Covenant, stewardship, and shared generosity rooted in Covenant 3StrangStrong partnership.
The Donor Engagement & Stewardship Officer (PT) cultivates meaningful relationships that strengthen connection to the Covenant's mission and ministry. This individual will help foster a culture of generosity and inspire annual individual and church participation and giving.
Primary Responsibilities
Donor & Church Engagement
• Oversee and steward a set of churches, individuals with a focus on intentional relationship-building and engagement.
• Conduct regular visits and conversations with pastors, church leaders, and donors, inviting deeper participation in shared Covenant mission through 3StrandStrong mission giving and stewardship.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward both President's Circle sustaining gifts and major gifts.
• Partner with conference and denominational leaders to foster healthy engagement, trust, and shared ownership of the Covenant's mission.
Advancement Strategy & Communications
• Communicate the impact of generosity through clear, inspiring, and mission-centered storytelling.
• Support Advancement communications efforts that cultivate a culture of generosity, partnership, and shared stewardship across the Covenant.
Stewardship & Donor Care
• Provide thoughtful, timely, and relational stewardship for churches and individual donors through personal outreach, written communication, and ongoing engagement.
• Maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, and engagement strategies within fundraising and database systems.
• Utilize analytics and donor information tools to support reporting, strategy development, and engagement planning.
Collaboration & Leadership Support
• Contribute to a collaborative and mission-focused Advancement team culture.
• Support the ongoing alignment of donor engagement efforts with Covenant mission priorities, and renewal initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in fundraising, advancement, donor engagement, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success in relationship-building, donor cultivation, stewardship, and gift solicitation.
• Familiarity with local church ministry and church leadership dynamics.
• Experience with donor databases and fundraising management systems.
Preferred
• Personal engagement and connection with the Evangelical Covenant Church.
• Experience working within faith-based or denominational ministry settings.
• Knowledge of Covenant mission, values, and connectional ministry structures.
