Job description

HELP US CHANGE CHILDREN'S LIVES. We get elementary-aged students excited about reading. We are a children's book startup a multi-award-winning platform and base product. We created an architected model for school fundraising that eliminates all the fundraising pain while exciting students into reading and giving away books. You will be fully supported and will be asked to present product, pricing, and/or structural changes that will make your job easier and more lucrative.

**Company Description**
Active Literature is a technology-based children's book publishing startup based out of Andover, Massachusetts. The company has developed a unique platform to get children excited about reading by making them the main character and hero. Already boasting its first multi-award-winning book we are launching its restructure for fundraising along with other books and products. The company needs your help in order to take-off in our key exposure area: fundraising at elementary schools. Helping children through joy is how we work.

**Role Description**
You will be either working with or replacing our current sales manager, who is on medical leave.

We have many interested sales prospects who we need you to follow-up with as well as cold-creating new ones via social media. You should draw from social media and drive ours.

You should have current or past experience in PTA work. Honesty and integrity is a must.

Ideal candidate is highly organized and can make calls, take calls, and send e-mails and post from home.

Having elementary-aged kids is a plus and understanding how PTAs work is hepful.

Qualifications

  • service-oriented
  • computer literate (Word, Email, Excel, Calendar) with proficiency
  • Hubspot or equivalent proficiency
  • a self-starter with VERY STRONG WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • detail-oriented
  • able to maintain accurate records
  • able to communicate effectively with PTA members, teachers, and principals
  • sales experience
  • experience selling to PTAs is a big plus
  • having current PTA contacts is a huge plus

Regarding contract status:

As a startup, we have needed to go contract until after we build our infrastructure. While we can't yet pay you what you are worth yet, as our growth explodes, yours will, too. This role is for a US-based individual, and will be remote work. We are looking for someone who has experience in and is good at building relationships with clients.

High commission makes this primarily a commission role plus $20 per hour to start. Bonus eligible. When we take off, you will, too and this will transition from contractor to employee. If you can get schools onboard with the best fundraising idea of the century, you will be the highest paid person in the company.
