These roles often include project management, administrative support, drafting, estimating, and other tasks that can be completed using digital tools and communication platforms. Part time remote construction jobs offer flexible hours and may cater to professionals who have expertise in construction but require a more adaptable schedule. They are ideal for individuals looking to balance other commitments while contributing to construction projects. This type of work relies heavily on technology and effective communication to coordinate with onsite teams.

How do part time remote construction professionals typically collaborate with on-site teams to ensure project progress?

Part-time remote construction professionals often use digital tools like video conferencing, project management software, and shared documents to stay connected with on-site teams. Regular virtual meetings and clear documentation help ensure everyone is aligned on project milestones and any changes. While working off-site can present challenges in communication and real-time problem-solving, establishing reliable communication channels and maintaining proactive updates are key to successful collaboration. This remote setup allows flexibility but requires strong organizational skills and a high level of self-motivation.

About the Role

We're a building materials supplier and subcontractor serving commercial and multifamily construction projects, supplying flooring, kitchen cabinets, doors, and windows to general contractors, developers, and builders. We're hiring a part-time Commercial Estimator to handle material takeoffs and bid proposals. Remote, flexible hours — a good fit for an experienced estimator looking for steady supplemental work.

Responsibilities

  • Review plans, specs, and finish schedules from bid platforms and plan rooms
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for flooring, cabinets, doors, and windows

  • Ability to read architectural drawings and door/window and finish schedules
  • Experience with digital takeoff software and spreadsheets
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, clear written English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with bid platforms such as PlanHub, ConstructConnect, or Dodge Construction Network
  • Prior estimating for a materials supplier or distributor
  • Existing relationships with general contractors

Compensation
