How much do part time real estate jobs pay per year?
What is a part time real estate job?
A Part Time Real Estate job typically involves working as a real estate agent or assistant while maintaining a flexible schedule. Part-time agents help clients buy, sell, or rent properties but may handle fewer transactions than full-time agents. This role is ideal for those looking to earn extra income or transition into a full-time real estate career. Licensing requirements vary by state, so it's important to check local regulations. Success often depends on networking, market knowledge, and time management skills.
What does a typical work week look like for someone in a part time real estate position?
A typical week for a part-time real estate professional often includes a mix of client meetings, property showings, following up on leads, and handling paperwork for active transactions, usually scheduled around your availability and clients’ needs. The workload can fluctuate depending on the season and local market activity, making flexibility and organization essential. Part-time agents may work independently or as part of a brokerage team, attending team meetings or training sessions as needed. This structure allows you to build your real estate career while balancing other personal or professional commitments.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a part time real estate position, and why are they important?
To thrive in a Part Time Real Estate role, you need a solid understanding of property market trends, effective sales techniques, and a valid real estate license recognized in your state. Familiarity with real estate CRM software, multiple listing services (MLS), and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, time management, and proactive networking abilities help candidates stand out in this position. These skills are crucial for successfully attracting clients, managing transactions efficiently, and balancing flexible hours with meeting sales goals.

Work type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer
Location: Pomona
Categories: Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part Time, Faculty - Business/Management, On-site (work in-person at business location)
Temporary Faculty Pool
Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law
College of Business Administration
The Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Finance, Real Estate, or Business Law for part-time teaching appointments.
About Cal Poly Pomona
Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. Since its founding in 1938, Cal Poly Pomona students participate in an integrative experiential learning education that is inclusive, relevant, and values diverse perspectives and experiences. With a variety of degree programs in the arts, humanities, sciences, engineering, and professional disciplines, the university is well known for its learn- by-doing approach and Teacher Scholar Model.
The university is noted for its scenic and historic 1,400-acre campus, which was once the winter ranch of cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg. We acknowledge that Cal Poly Pomona resides on the territorial and homelands of the Tongva and Tataavium people who are the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar. The university's nearly 30,000 students are taught and mentored by the campus's more than 1,400 faculty as part of 54 baccalaureate and 29 master's degree programs, 11 credential and certificate programs, and a doctorate in educational leadership.
College of Business Administration
Cal Poly Pomona's College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) - a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide. Notably, the college, along with three other CSU campuses, holds a separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, placing it among the elite 3% of institutions globally with both business and accounting accreditations. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best undergraduate business programs, the college offers eight undergraduate options as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. In 2022, the Singelyn Graduate School of Business was established through a transformative gift from alumni David and Ruth Singelyn. Today, the graduate school offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and several specialized master's programs. The college is housed in a state-of-the-art, three-building complex, featuring modern classrooms, lecture halls, labs, conference rooms, student club spaces, and offices for more than 100 faculty and staff.
Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law
The Finance, Real Estate and Law (FRL) Department offers a B.S. degree in Finance, Real Estate and Law, and an M.S. degree in Financial Analytics, serving approximately 1,000 students in the major. The success of our program results from our student-centered, inclusive environment and solid curriculum that integrates hands-on experiential learning experiences, such as financial analysis and trading experience through the use of our interactive Bloomberg terminals and the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) program. Our faculty work closely with students through four award-winning student organizations: the Finance Society; the Real Estate Association; The Society of Law, Contracts, and Property; and the Bronco Investment Club (BIC). Further information may be obtained from the department website: https://www.cpp.edu/~cba/finance-real-estate-and-law/

For questions, please contact the Office of Faculty Affairs at avpfa@cpp.edu. We strongly recommend that faculty review their individual circumstances carefully with their personal immigration legal counsel.
