Job description

Responsibilities
Altec is hiring a Part-Time Accounts Payable Associate in Birmingham, AL (Corporate Office) to manage, maintain, and improve the accuracy of our supplier master data. This position is responsible for ensuring supplier information is complete, accurate, and up to date while supporting procurement, accounting, and business operations through effective data governance and reporting. The ideal candidate will work approximately 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and update supplier and employee master records
  • Process new supplier and employee setup requests
  • Manage supplier documentation, including W-9 forms and banking information
  • Monitor and resolve duplicate records and data discrepancies
  • Perform routine audits to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Legal, and business stakeholders to resolve supplier data issues.
  • Assist with annual 1099 preparation, reconciliation, and reporting processes
  • Assist with system upgrades, process improvements, and data migration projects related to supplier information.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2 years applicable experience required
  • Ability to prioritize and handle time sensitive matters
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data validation, sorting, filtering, and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with direct supervision
