What is part-time physiatry?

Part-time physiatry refers to working as a physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physician on a reduced or flexible schedule, rather than full-time. Physiatrists diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions affecting the muscles, bones, and nervous system, helping patients improve movement and quality of life. Part-time positions are often sought for better work-life balance or to accommodate other professional or personal commitments. These roles may be found in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, or private practices. The scope of practice and responsibilities remain largely the same as full-time physiatrists, but with fewer hours or a more flexible schedule.
