Job description

JAT Pharmacy is seeking a Part Time - Pharmacist in our DeForest, Wisconsin location.
Job Summary:
Ensure safe and effective processing of prescription and non-prescription medications and devices by ensuring products are properly labeled and packaged for delivery to individuals via common courier.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The Pharmacist will perform Drug Utilization Reviews and Product Verification on prescriptions to ensure accuracy. Manage employees in the pharmacy to ensure efficient and safe dispensing of prescriptions.
  • The Pharmacist will provide customer service to veterinarians, pet owners, and sales representatives.
  • The Pharmacist will manage filing of paperwork such as invoices and prescriptions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise all employees in Pharmacy during Pharmacist in Charge’s absence.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
  • Must meet the requirements as defined in the Wisconsin Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • A RPh or PharmD degree required
  • One year of retail pharmacy experience desired but not required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and data entry
  • Ability to differentiate details related to product codes and descriptions (such as verifying a string of numbers)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in processes
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills
  • Must be self motivated and able to work independently

Equipment Used:
Windows based computer, tape gun, safety knife, safety equipment, markers, label equipment, packaging materials, telephone, fax and copier.
Work Environment:
Work will be performed indoors in a relatively temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday with availability for remote coverage required on Saturday as scheduling needs dictate.
