Employment Type: Part-Time, 1099 Independent Contractor

Locations: NYC Boroughs (Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx, Queens)

Target Population: Children and adolescents on the autism spectrum (Ages 5–18)

About Us

At PLAY LEARN BEHAVE WITH ABA, we believe in holistic, neurodiversity-affirming, and evidence-based interventions that empower children to thrive. We partner closely with families and schools across New York City to provide comprehensive behavioral and therapeutic support. As we expand our multidisciplinary team, we are seeking a passionate, skilled, and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide exceptional care to children on the autism spectrum.

Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Part-Time SLP (1099 Contractor) to deliver high-quality speech and language therapy to students aged 5 to 18. This role is highly collaborative and community-focused. Therapy will primarily be conducted on-site at schools, with additional opportunities for after-school and weekend sessions.

Because we serve families across the city, the ideal candidate is flexible, energetic, and able to commute between NYC boroughs (Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx, and Queens). Hours are flexible and vary depending on caseload, school schedules, and family availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for children and adolescents (ages 5–18) on the autism spectrum.
  • Develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans addressing expressive/receptive language delays, articulation, social communication (pragmatics), and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) needs.
  • Provide high-impact therapy sessions on-site at designated schools during regular hours, after-school, or on weekends.
  • Collaborate and consult with educators, ABA therapists, and families to ensure strategies are generalized across the child’s natural environments.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation, progress notes, and reports tracking client milestones.

What We Offer

  • Industry-Leading Pay: $100 to $165/hour, fully negotiable based on your years of experience, specialized certifications, and credentials.
  • Autonomy & Flexibility: Design a part-time schedule that fits your lifestyle with after-school and weekend options.
  • Meaningful Impact: Work with a collaborative, passionate team dedicated to making a real difference in the neurodivergent community.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must hold a valid New York State license and registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification: Must be certified to practice in New York City (e.g., TSSLD/TSHH certification is highly preferred for school-based work).
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum (ASD) is required.
  • Mobility: Must be willing and able to commute to/between designated boroughs (Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx, Queens).
  • Background Cleared: Must have a clean criminal record and be fully willing to undergo a rigorous background check.
  • Language (Plus): Fluency in Spanish is a major plus!

How to Apply

If you are a motivated SLP who loves helping children find their voice and thrive in their communities, we want to hear from you!
