Job Overview
The Daviess County Detention Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Receptionist/Clerk. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a high level of confidentiality, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a correctional environment.
Schedule
Primarily Monday - Friday: Between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Approximately 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Public Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for the public, answering inquiries professionally.
Financial Transactions: Handle cash accurately and complete daily cash transactions.
Facility Supervision: Supervise inmate workers assigned to clerical or lobby areas.
Compliance & Review: Monitor and review inmate mail and video visitation for safety protocols.
Clerical Support: Perform general office and clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Licensure: Possess a valid driver's license.
Background: No felony convictions since the age of 21.
Core Competency: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
