Job Description
We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for PACU at the Rye, New York site. The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients and their families following the nursing process, established standards and practices. Assist physicians and other team members in coordinating patient care. Functions as a resource for support staff (LPNs and Medical Assistants)
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
OFFICE VISITS:
  • Assesses and monitors changes in the physical and psycho/social needs of patients utilizing the nursing process
  • Educates and counsels patient and/or caregiver with provisions for follow-up
  • Prepares the patient for and assists in complex procedures and treatments
  • Administers and documents all medications including IV therapy accurately

CHARTING:
  • Patient charting is entered into the EMR accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provides clinical direction to the support staff (LPNs, Medical Assistants)

MISCELLANEOUS:
  • Responds to emergencies as needed
  • Checks code cart weekly, if applicable
  • Stocks supplies as needed

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum education: Associate Degree; Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • NY State RN License
  • BLS and ACLS Certified required
  • IV certification and PALS preferred
  • Completes competency skill checklist within first 3 months
  • Vascular/surgical experience highly preferred
  • EMR experience is a strong plus

Pay Range: $43.61 - $54.52 Hourly
The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
