We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high quality perioperative and office-based nursing care in an outpatient surgical setting at our clinic in Chesterton, IN. This role supports physicians, medical assistants, and patients through pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases, while ensuring compassionate, safe, and efficient care.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comfort, reassurance, and compassionate nursing care while supporting patients' rights to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Perform thorough pre-operative patient assessments in an outpatient setting.
  • Provide safe, individualized nursing care in the immediate post-operative/post-anesthesia period.
  • Conduct thorough post-operative assessments prior to patient discharge.
  • Deliver clear and effective discharge education to patients and caregivers.
  • Provide nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered.
  • Start and manage IVs and assist physicians in the office and OR setting.
  • Take vitals, collect patient history, and respond to patient questions or concerns.
  • Work closely with physicians and medical assistant staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Accurately and promptly document all aspects of patient care in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Assist with managing inventory of supplies, medications, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the postoperative area.
  • Confirm that proper techniques and procedures are followed according to accepted standards of nursing practice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Requirements
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Indiana.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in perioperative nursing, including pretesting, pre-operative, and post-operative care.
  • Demonstrated experience starting IVs and working in an office and/or OR setting.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia, and perioperative nursing protocols.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and medical software.
  • Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Schedule: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week, based on operational needs
Pay: $30.34 - $37.92 per hour, depending on experience
