TITLE: Principal Systems Engineer, Digital Engineering SolutionsLOCATION: Sterling, VA (Relocation assistance considered)CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Active TS/SCI with CI PolyEMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-Time / As Needed, Onsite POSITION SUMMARYModern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer, Digital Engineering Solutions to lead the architecture, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise engineering platform environments in support of national security missions. In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for Teamwork Cloud, Cameo, and associated engineering tools within secure cloud-based infrastructures, driving automation, integration, and infrastructure improvements that ensure platform reliability and mission readiness. Working across engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and mission teams, you will define technical roadmaps, resolve complex application and integration issues, and own the health and performance of critical engineering environments. RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):Lead the architecture, deployment, modernization, and sustainment of Teamwork Cloud, Cameo, Cassandra, and related engineering platforms within cloud-hosted environments.Implement and optimize Automation as Code (AaC) solutions and CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.Design and maintain integrations between engineering platforms, workflow systems, automation tools, and enterprise services.Provide technical leadership for database, authentication, identity management, and application infrastructure supporting MBSE environments.Troubleshoot complex platform, infrastructure, and integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.Develop and oversee testing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure platform reliability and operational readiness.Lead DevOps and infrastructure automation initiatives utilizing Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, and related technologies.Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and mission stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and implement strategic improvements.Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture artifacts, implementation guides, and operational procedures.Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and stakeholders in both written and verbal formats. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSMust possess an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.Must meet DoD 8140 requirements, including Security+ CE certification.Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.16+ years of experience architecting, deploying, and sustaining enterprise engineering platforms and IT infrastructure within cloud-hosted environments.Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining Teamwork Cloud, Cameo, Cassandra, or similar engineering platforms using Automation as Code (AaC) and CI/CD pipelines.Experience integrating enterprise applications with workflow, ticketing, automation, or custom-developed platforms, including ServiceNow or similar solutions.Experience supporting relational and non-relational databases, including Cassandra, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.Experience supporting IdAM technologies including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.Experience developing integrations using Python, PowerShell, and Groovy, with strong skills in testing, validation, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSExperience supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, tools, and enterprise engineering ecosystems.Experience optimizing cloud-hosted solutions and supporting Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), IBM Cloud, or similar environments.Experience implementing and integrating ServiceNow solutions.Experience supporting monitoring, visualization, and observability platforms such as Grafana and Splunk.Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) and SharePoint as AaC using CI/CD pipelines within cloud-based environments.
