Assistant Store Manager
Department: cabi Outlet
Reports To: Store Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, driving sales performance, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role helps lead and develop store teams, supports operational processes, and contributes to achieving sales and business goals. The ideal candidate is passionate about fashion, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and uphold cabi's core values and brand standards
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience through personalized sales and client engagement
  • Assist in tracking daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and sales goals
  • Support the development and execution of action plans to meet or exceed store performance goals
  • Build customer relationships through active clienteling and engagement programs
  • Assist with creating and executing marketing campaigns and outreach initiatives
  • Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and development of store employees
  • Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
  • Assist with merchandising and visual presentation according to company standards
  • Maintain a strong presence on the sales floor while supporting team development and customer service
  • Assist with inventory management, shipment processing, and stock organization
  • Help maintain store records, banking, petty cash, and operational procedures
  • Ensure store cleanliness, maintenance, and operational standards are consistently met
  • Communicate effectively with management, team members, and company partners
  • Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise key carriers and part-time sales associates while serving as Manager on Duty
  • Support employee coaching, performance management, and training in accordance with company policies and applicable laws

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a retail supervisor, Assistant Store Manager, or similar leadership role
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience coaching, training, and developing employees
  • Ability to analyze sales data and KPI performance
  • Proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented mindset

Education & Experience
  • Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2-3 years of retail leadership experience preferred

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, speak, hear, and use hands to operate retail and computer equipment
  • May occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to use ladders or step stools
  • Retail environment with moderate noise levels and varying customer traffic throughout the day
