ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under the general supervision, the Office Support position is responsible for supporting the Manager with procurement-related tasks such as selecting the right product mix, managing purchase orders, order confirmations, monitoring inventory, and providing administrative support. This position will also work closely with vendors and keep track of orders and market trends.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
  • Assist with purchasing responsibilities within all general merchandise categories. This includes in-depth analysis of product sales, cost of goods, margins and other various metrics used to make well-informed purchasing and reorder decisions.
  • Examine and diligently manage inventory ordering and inventory stock levels.
  • Monitor orders and maintain regular communication with multiple suppliers to ensure the prompt delivery of products, optimizing the potential for sales.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, explore prospective vendors, and engage in pricing evaluation and negotiations as needed.
  • Manage special orders, from quoting customers to sourcing products and creating/maintaining related documents, tracking, systems and relationships.
  • Provide a wide range of general office tasks, including answering phones, preparing correspondence, filing, sending faxes, scanning documents and related data entry.
  • Regularly communicate work/project status updates/challenges and task completions with direct supervisor.
  • Schedule, supervise, train, develop, and hiring of student employees.
  • Assist with creation and, development of procedures and departmental processes.
  • Ensure a pleasant and secure customer shopping environment with well-signed, tagged, displayed, and priced merchandise while maintaining various visual standards to drive sales.
  • Maintain precise records, including inventory, pricing, product margin, mark-downs, accounting documents, and related practices to ensure financial success.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff at all levels within a diverse, multicultural, collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Strategize, manage, and collaborate with other departments which include various campus partners, such as marketing, to execute promotions, sales, and events related to product and service awareness.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interactive customer service, efficient prioritization, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with proficiency.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Frequent supervision of part-time staff and/or student staff.
  • Provides regular feedback and coaching to student team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Professional level of knowledge is needed equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a 2-year college degree program (AA degree) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in merchandising and sales to both retail and institutional customers.
  • Previous experience working on a college campus preferred.
