About The Position:
Successful candidates will be committed to excellence in teaching in an institution dedicated primarily to undergraduate education. They will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and gender issues, as SUNY Plattsburgh is committed to ensuring that its graduates are educated to succeed in an increasingly complex, multicultural, and interdependent world.
Some Adjunct Instructors assigned to laboratories, theaters, or studios (art, theater, science) must participate in mandatory safety training before they can begin work. Training sessions are provided by the College during the first week of each semester. No additional compensation is provided for attendance at the mandatory safety training sessions.
The vita bank exists to provide a pool of candidates who might be available to fill anticipated positions as needed.
Required Qualifications:
M.A. Degree required. Successful candidates will have demonstrated an ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. preferred and the ability to use the Moodle course management system to provide on line courses and/or support regular courses is desirable.
