Job description

Position Details:

  • Location: 133 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA
  • Department: Laboratory
  • Schedule: Part-Time | 24 Hours Per Week.  
    • Three 8-hour shifts per week on a rotating schedule, including weekends. Specific workdays will vary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens (e.g., body fluids, exudates, skin scrapings or surgical specimens), exercising independent judgment when evaluating the validity of test results prior to result reporting
  • Provides data for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease
  • Operates and calibrates all equipment in the area of specialization, evaluates the validity of laboratory data, records tests results, communicates with physicians, pathologists and nursing staff regarding test procedures and results

Required Qualification:

  • Associates degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in CLIA regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline or equivalent from an accredited institution is also acceptable
  • Direct core lab bench experience
  • Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), by the ASCP or equivalent certification (those without Certification are typically expected to become certified within 6 months of date of hire). Will also accept certifications meeting the federal requirements of CLIA 88
  • Experience with CAP/CLIA regulated environments
  • Strong competency in hematology, chemistry, and urinalysis
  • Experience independently performing and verifying patient results in a LIS such as Meditech or Epic
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • 1 years of laboratory experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $24 - $43 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
