Client Overview:
Several of our clients are hiring multiple Medical Science Liaisons. These clients range from small to mid-sized biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations focused on advancing innovative therapies and supporting scientific collaboration within the healthcare community.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$170k - $220k, plus bonus and stock
Position Overview:
The Medical Science Liaison will serve as a field-based therapeutic expert connecting healthcare professionals with internal clinical and research teams. The Medical Science Liaison will focus on peer-to-peer scientific exchange and education, separate from commercial sales objectives. This role will develop strategic medical networks within an assigned geographic region and provide valuable clinical insights to internal Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Marketing teams.
Responsibilities of the Medical Science Liaison:
  • Identify, build, and maintain collaborative relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers.
  • Present complex clinical data, trial results, and disease state information to medical communities.
  • Gather and communicate field-based medical insights to help shape internal pipeline strategies.
  • Assist with site selection, investigator identification, and inquiries regarding Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
  • Attend major medical conferences to gather data, identify scientific trends, and support company exhibit activities.
  • Execute all field activities in accordance with industry regulations, legal standards, and company compliance policies.
Required Experience/Skills for the Medical Science Liaison:
  • Demonstrated ability to translate highly complex clinical data into clear, impactful, and educational presentations.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and relationship-building capabilities to engage effectively with medical experts.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to address unsolicited medical requests and navigate complex clinical questions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required to work independently in a remote field environment.
  • Ability to travel frequently, often up to 70%, within the assigned territory, including overnight travel.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Medical Science Liaison:
  • Prior experience working as a field-based Medical Science Liaison within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Deep scientific knowledge or clinical experience within a specialized therapeutic area.
