Job description

Toledo Clinic's Ophthalmology Department, located at 4235 Secor Rd in Toledo OH, is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist. This position will work Tuesdays and Thursdays (8:00-5:00) and provide front office support in a busy practice.


General Summary

Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office.

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
  • Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
  • Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
  • Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
  • Updating insurance information.
  • Answering general patient questions.
  • Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel.


Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To

  • Collecting co-pays.
  • Preparing and/or submitting charge tickets.
  • Preparing and cleaning exam rooms.
  • Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required


Required:

  • Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
  • Completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills.
