Job Status: Part Time
Reports to: Executive Vice President
Schedule: 20+ hours a week
Hourly Rate: $16 to $19
Job Summary
The Maintenance Staff is responsible for the safety of the staff and visitors and the security of the building. The Maintenance Staff works closely with the Facilities Supervisor to facilitate a quick turnover of work orders and the security and upkeep of the main office and the 150 N. Clinton Rd. location. This position will require constant communication and excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Vacuum carpet areas.
  • Clean all building bathrooms.
  • Maintain non-carpeted flooring including sweeping, washing, and polishing, as needed.
  • Miscellaneous maintenance and repair as needed, such as overhead light bulb replacement, fixing minor plumbing problems, hanging pictures, painting etc.
  • Keep entranceways free from snow and ice during winter.
  • Window washing on all inside windows and 1st floor outside windows semi-annually.
  • Escort employees, Board members and others to parking lot after hours or when needed.
  • Coordinate the work of sub-contractors for maintenance and repair work not performed in house.
  • Secure the building upon departure each evening (when assigned)
  • Be willing to occasionally come in on off-hours and weekends for special projects or building security purposes.
  • While not an on-call position, you must be willing to be in constant communication for emergency situations as work assignments/hours may change
  • Perform such duties as the supervisor may assign.
  • Attend/support Urban League of Rochester events and fund raising functions.

Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised after hours.
  • Conscientious and detail oriented in work performed.
  • Experienced in painting, maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to provide own transportation, when needed.
  • Flexibility with work schedules.
  • Computer literacy a plus
  • Ability to relate well with others, a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
