Description
Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide organization, sanitation, and general maintenance in the assigned area of the assigned Department. Employees in this classification perform general and preventative maintenance work. Position is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of supplies in the assigned areas.
This position may be assigned to other Parks locations as needed based on department operations.
Days/Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 2:30 PM - Close (Shift times may be adjusted based on scheduled events and business needs.)
Examples of Duties
โ€ข Inspects park facilities for any safety issues that may be present.
โ€ข Sprays for weeds and other plant material.
โ€ข Painting of athletic fields.
โ€ข Brings equipment out to West side for repairs and maintenance.
โ€ข Mows athletic fields.
โ€ข Pick stick trash around the park.
โ€ข Clean restrooms.
โ€ข Pressure clean park amenities.
โ€ข Fill out daily and weekly logs and inspections.
โ€ข Complete basic landscape maintenance.
โ€ข Work in group projects.
โ€ข Drag and line ball fields.
โ€ข Remove trash from trash cans.
โ€ข Pickup landscape debris.
โ€ข Drag and line ballfields
โ€ข Turn on field lights for permits
โ€ข Checking to make sure people have the proper permits.
โ€ข Turning off field lights at the end of the night.
โ€ข Opening/Closing the restrooms and park gates.
Typical Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent and working knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping and grounds keeping work as well as using pressure cleaning equipment Possession of valid Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record.
