InterContinental The Clement Monterey is looking for a dependable, skilled, and service-oriented Maintenance Engineer II to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and safety of the hotel while helping deliver an exceptional guest experience.

We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving, works well independently, and thrives in a hospitality environment.

 

Position Overview: The Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, restaurant spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel grounds. This position performs general maintenance tasks involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, painting, carpentry, and preventative maintenance.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs
  • Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Repair and maintain guest room fixtures, lighting, furniture, and equipment
  • Assist with painting, drywall, carpentry, and renovation projects
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of hotel facilities and grounds
  • Support hotel operations with professionalism and urgency
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols
  • Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to support guest satisfaction

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance or trade experience preferred
  • Hotel maintenance experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors/outdoors as needed
