What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Live Streaming professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Live Streaming professional, you need strong communication skills, on-camera presence, and basic technical knowledge of streaming platforms, typically without formal qualifications required. Familiarity with tools like OBS Studio, Streamlabs, webcams, microphones, and streaming services such as Twitch or YouTube Live is vital. Creativity, adaptability, and audience engagement skills help you stand out in attracting and retaining viewers. These abilities are essential for building a loyal audience, maintaining stream quality, and achieving success in a competitive online environment.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time live streamers, and how can they be managed?

Part-time live streamers often face challenges such as maintaining a consistent streaming schedule, engaging with their audience despite limited hours, and balancing streaming with other work or personal commitments. To manage these challenges, it’s important to plan streams in advance, communicate your availability clearly to your audience, and use scheduling tools to maximize engagement during your live sessions. Additionally, networking with other streamers and seeking feedback can help you grow your channel even with limited time.

What is a part-time live streaming job?

A part-time live streaming job involves broadcasting live video content on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook for a set number of hours each week. Individuals in this role may stream gameplay, tutorials, events, or personal content to engage with an online audience. It is considered part-time because the streamer does not work full-time hours, which allows flexibility for students or those with other jobs. Part-time live streamers often earn income through ad revenue, donations, sponsorships, or subscriptions. Technical skills, audience engagement, and consistent scheduling are important for success in this role.

Rebag

New York, NY • On-site

$23 - $30/hr

Full-time, Part-time

Posted 3 days ago

Job description

Company
Rebag, the ultimate destination for buying and selling the most coveted designer handbags and accessories, is an e-commerce company reimagining the role of luxury in the secondary market. Rebag has opened a world of endless access to luxury, with a unique business model that puts the seller first, offers upfront payment, and makes the resale experience smooth and clutter-free.
Since its inception, Rebag has catered to a rapidly growing segment of consumers who are exploring ownership of luxury goods in a sustainable and affordable way. The company operates online and in stores, with locations in Los Angeles, New York and Miami. Founded in 2014 by a team out of Harvard Business School, Rebag is backed by prestigious venture capital investors including General Catalyst, Novator, Crosslink and FJLabs, and has raised $100m in funding to date. In 2020, Rebag was named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies. Rebag has been featured in the New York Times, Business of Fashion, VOGUE, TechCrunch and more.
The Role's Core Values
As a Livestream Host, you'll be on camera hosting live selling shows on TikTok Shop, presenting authenticated luxury products to a live audience, driving sales in real time, and creating engaging short-form content between shows. You'll also serve as a moderator for other hosts' streams, managing comments, uploading products into the live feed, and keeping the show running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a dual role: some days you're the seller on camera, other days you're the moderator supporting the show. We need people who can do both and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
What We Expect You to Bring To The Table
  • Host live selling shows on TikTok, presenting luxury handbags, accessories, watches, and jewelry to a live audience with energy, authenticity, and product knowledge.
  • Engage with viewers in real time-answering questions, highlighting product details, creating urgency, and closing sales during the stream.
  • Maintain Rebag's premium brand tone while keeping the energy fun, approachable, and native to TikTok.
  • Serve as the moderator for other hosts' live streams, managing the technical and operational side of the broadcast.
  • Upload products into the live stream feed, respond to viewer comments, flag questions for the host, and troubleshoot technical issues in real time.
  • Coordinate product flow during the show to keep pacing smooth and engaging.
  • Select and curate products for each live show, balancing hero pieces with accessible entry-point items.
  • Coordinate with the E-Commerce team to prepare product batches, confirm pricing, and ensure all items are listed and ready for the stream.
  • Develop show outlines and talking points for each broadcast, including product highlights, key selling features, and planned promotions.
  • Stage products in the studio with proper lighting and presentation.
  • Create short-form video content (TikTok videos, Reels) between live shows to promote upcoming streams, highlight products, and grow the audience.
  • Film product teasers, behind-the-scenes clips, and post-show highlight reels that feed the content engine.

What we are requiring for this role:
  • You have a passion for fashion and an interest in luxury brands, you don't need to be an expert, but you should be excited to learn the difference between a Chanel Classic Flap and a Boy Bag.
  • You're comfortable on camera and have an outgoing, engaging personality that keeps people watching.
  • You understand how TikTok works, the culture, the trends, the pacing-and you're a regular user of the platform.
  • You're organized and detail-oriented enough to handle pre-show prep: product selection, coordinating with teams, and building show outlines.
  • You're a team player who can switch between being the star on camera and the reliable support behind the scenes.
  • You can work in a fast-paced environment where no two shows are exactly the same.
  • Prior experience in retail sales, content creation, live streaming, or social media is a plus but not required.

Additional Detail:
  • Location: On-site in New York City (studio environment).
  • Schedule: Full-time and part-time positions available. Multiple show times per day; shifts will include both on-camera and moderation time.
  • Live Show Operates in New York City primarily in Brooklyn (Industry City) as well as Manhattan Financial District (World Trade Center). Shows typically run Monday to Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday/Sunday 10am-8pm so candidates need to have broad availability
  • Compensation: $23-$30/hour.
