A warm and supportive fully staffed family is seeking a patient, experienced, and engaging Part-Time Educator to support their bright and sweet young son with autism as he transitions into a hybrid homeschool and co-op kindergarten program this fall. The family is building a dedicated in-home classroom space and is looking for someone who can create a calm, encouraging, and adaptive learning environment tailored to his individual needs and learning style.
The family would love to find someone who is genuinely passionate about helping children learn in ways that support their individual strengths and who can become a trusted and positive part of their educational journey.
The ideal candidate will have a background in special education, learning support, autism spectrum learning styles, or early childhood education, and will understand how to balance structure, patience, movement, encouragement, and creativity throughout the school day.

Schedule:
• Monday & Wednesday: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
• Friday: approximately 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM
with flexibility in start time for lesson planning, material preparation, coordination around therapy/educational goals, and helping structure his homeschool environment.
• Approximately 15 guaranteed hours per week
• Flexibility appreciated as schedule and educational needs evolve over time
• Potential for additional hours in the future as needs develop

  • Supporting homeschool curriculum provided through the child’s co-op school
    • Assisting with kindergarten-level educational activities and learning reinforcement
    • Helping create an engaging, patient, and encouraging learning environment
    • Working collaboratively with parents and existing therapy team when appropriate
    • Encouraging focus, communication, movement, and adaptive learning techniques
    • Supporting the child emotionally and academically throughout lessons
    • Helping organize classroom materials and maintain a productive learning space

 • Teaching certification or degree in education/special education
• Experience homeschooling or supporting hybrid learning environments
• ABA, therapy support, or neurodivergent learning experience
• Long-term interest in growing with the family as needs evolve

  • Background in special education, education, child development, or related field
    • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum strongly preferred
    • Patient, calm, flexible, and encouraging demeanor
    • Understanding of adaptive learning styles and developmental support
