Description:

Burnett Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to work in our busy lab.

SHIFT & HOURS: Part-time (48 hours/2 weeks) and Full-Time (80 hours/2 weeks)

This role includes shared on-call responsibilities and may require independent work during off-shifts. Mostly days with some evenings; along with every third weekend on call

SUMMARY

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely analysis of patient specimens, quality control, instrument maintenance, and result reporting. This position is responsible for testing in all of the following areas: phlebotomy, urinalysis, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank/transfusion services, and molecular testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collect and process specimens using appropriate technique.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment.

Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and participate in quality assurance activities.

Recognize abnormal/critical values and follow notification protocols.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution, required.

Or Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS/CLS, Biology, Chemistry, or related field), required.

Qualified to work in a high complex laboratory, required.

At least one year of experience, required.

Laboratory certification such as ASCP or AMT, preferred
